Individual students interested in volunteering regularly at the ECEC, are asked to read the information below, complete the forms, and bring in the required paperwork. Please note that if you are a volunteer at the ECEC, you are not allowed to privately babysit for the families. Please consider this before becoming a regular volunteer.
If you are interested in becoming an ongoing volunteer - please email ecec@ucmerced.edu using your UC Merced email address. Please include your student ID number and we will start the process for your training and fingerprinting.
To volunteer, we require the following:
- Tuberculosis (TB) test within the last six months*. This can be a skin TB test, but a blood test will be the most accurate and both are available on campus.
- Proof of Measles (MMR) and Pertussis (TDaP) vaccinations. Must be an official immunization record copy.
- Annual Influenza vaccination record or statement declining shot between Sept. 1- Dec. 1
- Required online training on CANRA and child abuse reporting.
- Fingerprint clearance through the FBI, DoJ, and CACAI (California Child Abuse Index). UC Merced will cover the cost of the LiveScan once all other requirements have been met.
*Once received, it is good for your duration as a volunteer
