The UC Merced ECEC allows observers in the classroom by: students, professionals and prospective parents. Observers are required to schedule their observation time and check in with the ECEC staff upon entering the facility. Observers will remain under a staff member’s constant supervision and not be left alone with any child. The children’s identity will remain anonymous in any written observations made by the student.
Local colleges offer classes where students are required to observe young children as part of their assignments and they often prefer to come to a campus affiliated center to do these observations. The ECEC often receive requests from students from attending programs such as: CSU Stanislaus, Fresno State, Fresno Pacific University, Merced College and Brandman University.
